Getting started

Same email address. A more connected team.

How forwarding brings your existing email into a shared workspace, and what changes when you reply.

Alltended

Your customers already know where to find you. Moving to a shared inbox shouldn’t mean asking everyone to learn another email address.

Alltended uses forwarding to bring new messages from your existing mailbox into a workspace your team can share.

Start with the mailbox you already have

Create an organization and an inbox in Alltended. The setup guide gives you a forwarding destination for that inbox.

In your current email provider, configure forwarding to that destination. The exact steps depend on your provider, and some providers require you to confirm the destination before forwarding begins.

Send a test message from a separate address. Check that it appears in the expected Alltended inbox before relying on the setup for customer correspondence.

Know what forwarding does

Forwarding sends new incoming messages onward. It isn’t a full mailbox synchronization or a historical import.

Your existing provider controls whether it keeps a copy. Review its forwarding settings and retention behavior, especially if your team also works in the original mailbox.

Choose one place for your team to handle replies, so people don’t unknowingly work on the same message in two different tools.

Know what the customer sees

Customers can keep writing to your existing incoming address. Replies from Alltended currently use an allocated Alltended subdomain address.

That distinction matters: keeping your incoming address does not mean sending from your own domain. Customer-domain sending isn’t included yet.

Bring the rest of the team in

Invite your teammates and give them access to the mailboxes they need. Then agree on a simple way to assign conversations and leave internal notes.

Read the setup guide for a short checklist, or contact support@alltended.com if you need a hand.
